LMM understands how a child’s social emotional growth plays into every aspect of their development. Our teachers encourage children to resolve social conflicts in a positive way and focus on that child’s strengths and what they add to the classroom as a whole. Children are shown how to regulate their emotions in healthy ways through rationale thinking. Our approach to discipline is unique in that we use logical consequences vs. the timeout method leading the child to make choices based on compassion rather than harsh correction. Teamwork is a central role in many classroom activities and teachers model the behavior they wish to evoke by treating everyone with kindness and respect. Confidence is built through project presentations and children are given the opportunity to develop public speaking skills.
